• Red Fort (Lal Qila)

Built by Emperor Shah Jahan in 1639, the Red Fort is one of the most iconic symbols of India’s heritage and independence. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it served as the main residence of the Mughal emperors for over 200 years. Its sprawling complex includes Diwan-i-Aam, Diwan-i-Khas, Rang Mahal, and beautiful Mughal gardens. Though many tourists admire it from outside (to save time), those interested in history can choose to explore inside (entry ticket required). The Independence Day speech by the Prime Minister is delivered from its ramparts every year.

• Jama Masjid

Just opposite the Red Fort lies the grand Jama Masjid, one of India’s largest mosques. Commissioned by Shah Jahan in 1656, this mosque can hold over 25,000 worshippers. It features three grand gates, four towers, and two 40-meter-high minarets constructed with red sandstone and white marble. Visitors are welcome inside the mosque, and for a small fee, you can climb one minaret for an incredible panoramic view of Old Delhi. Don’t forget to dress modestly or borrow a robe at the entrance.

• Rickshaw Ride in Chandni Chowk (Optional)

To truly feel the pulse of Old Delhi, take a guided rickshaw ride through Chandni Chowk, one of Asia’s oldest markets. The narrow lanes are filled with spice shops, sweet stalls, fabric vendors, and ancient havelis. Experience the aroma of freshly ground spices at Khari Baoli, taste jalebis at Old Famous Jalebi Wala, and see religious harmony with mosques, temples, and gurudwaras just lanes apart. This ride is a sensory overload and a photographer’s paradise.

• India Gate & Rajpath

Drive down to India Gate, a 42-meter high war memorial built in memory of 70,000 Indian soldiers who lost their lives during World War I. The eternal flame (Amar Jawan Jyoti) constantly burns here in their honor. From here, take a scenic drive along Rajpath, the ceremonial boulevard, passing Rashtrapati Bhavan (Presidential Residence) and Parliament House. These colonial-era structures showcase the grand imperial vision of Sir Edwin Lutyens.

• Lotus Temple

An architectural marvel, the Lotus Temple is a Baháʼí House of Worship open to all religions. Shaped like a blooming lotus with 27 petals made of white marble, this peaceful sanctuary invites visitors to meditate or sit in silence. No rituals, photos, or sermons — just serenity. The temple's award-winning design and spiritual inclusiveness make it one of Delhi’s most visited landmarks.

• Qutub Minar (UNESCO World Heritage Site)

Standing tall at 73 meters, Qutub Minar is the tallest brick minaret in the world. Built in 1193 by Qutb-ud-din Aibak, it marks the beginning of Muslim rule in India. The complex also includes the Quwwat-ul-Islam Mosque, the Iron Pillar (which has not rusted for 1600 years), and several ancient ruins. It’s a must-visit for architecture and history enthusiasts.

• Humayun’s Tomb

Often referred to as the precursor to the Taj Mahal, Humayun’s Tomb is a perfect example of Persian-influenced Mughal architecture. Built in 1570 by Empress Bega Begum in memory of her husband Emperor Humayun, the garden tomb is surrounded by beautiful water channels and charbagh-style gardens. It’s peaceful, majestic, and deeply photogenic.

If time permits, end your day with a walk through Connaught Place, Janpath, or Dilli Haat for handicrafts, souvenirs, and street shopping. Our guide can assist you in exploring safe, government-authorized shops for authentic products like pashmina, spices, and handmade decor.

Note: You can adjust monument visits and time at each place. We can also skip some locations and include others like Akshardham Temple, Agrasen ki Baoli, or National Museum based on your interest.
